Why is the Unsubscribe and Manage Preferences link not working on my Test Email?
The unsubscribe and manage preferences Smart Code link is unique for each of your recipients as it's directly connected to their email address. For example, Mickey Mouse will be directed to a different unsubscribe webpage when they click on the unsubscribe button than Minnie Mouse.
If you test your Email Marketing from Keela, a copy of your email will be sent directly to your inbox. This information is being pulled from your Keela user account and not a specific Contact Profile. Because of this, there's no information to pull to replace the smart code, so the unsubscribe link will not pull a live unsubscribe webpage.
Unsubscribe and Manage Preferences Link Not Working Within an Email Marketing Template
When you use an existing Keela Email Marketing template, it includes a Footer that has an Unsubscribe Smart Code. You want to make sure the URL link in this footer remains unchanged. The code in the URL field should be {{unsublink}} and {{managepreference}}.
Important note: If the URL of your unsubscribe and manage preference link is anything other than {{unsublink}} or {{managepreference}}, the link will not work. It should look like this:

Note: You can change the Text field.
When an Unsubscribe or Manage Preferences Link is not Working on a Custom Template
If this is the case, you can go ahead and add a Footer Content Block to your Email Marketing. Again, just be sure the URL field for the unsubscribe or manage preferences link is unchanged.
Alternatively, you can add a link to a Text Content Block. However, you must be sure that the URL associated with the unsubscribe link that you add to the text box is {{unsublink}} or {{managepreference}}.
Important note: if the URL of your unsubscribe link is anything other than {{unsublink}} or {{managepreference}}, the link will not work.
