Credit Card updates for recurring donors

We spend considerable time each month tracking down recurring donors to find out why their recurring donation failed, often due to an expired or new credit card.  And having phone calls to confidentially get their new information. 

Is there an option to automate a letter to all those whose cards are about to expire?  That would eliminate about 2/3 of the calls.

And Ideally, is there a way for donors to update the card info themselves? A secure one-time link that allows them to update their info?
