Capturing zip/postcode in forms

Is there a way to capture just someone's zip/postcode rather than their full address? There is no standalone field in the form builder that I can find. For example on a mailing list sign up form it would be helpful data to get just their zip/postcode for future location targeting without needing their full address.

  What kind of form are you using? If it's a custom form, couldn't you just add a Form Question asking for zip code? It wouldn't automatically go into the Zip field on the person's record, but you could easily import it there if you wanted to.

  I could (and that's the only solution I can see) but trying to avoid manual processes.
