Now that you've created a new Donation Form, it's time to share it with the world!
Publishing Your Form
Before you can share your form, you will need to publish it. Publishing your form will not automatically share it with your Contacts. Instead, it will provide you with options to share it.
To do this, navigate to the Settings tab and click on the purple Publish Form button.
Note: The sharing options that display after you've published your form will change depending on the type of format that you selected when first creating it. It's not possible to switch a form's format once it's been created.
Sharing Your Form
Sharing a Pop-up Form
After publishing a Pop-up Form, the Keela system will automatically generate the following sharing options on the Settings tab:
1. Master Code (Pop-up)
This code should be copied and pasted into the Header section of your website. This code is what allows your website to integrate with Keela's Form. Great news! You only need to copy the Master Code from Keela into your Header once - so if you've already done this step before for another form type you don't need to do it again. No matter what form formats you choose, or how many forms you embed in your website - Master Code from Keela only needs to be added once.
2. Embed Button Script (Pop-up)
Next, paste the Embed Button Script code in the Body of your website (where you would like the Button for your pop-up form to appear). This code will automatically create a button that says "Donate" - when a viewer clicks this button, your form will pop-up, overlaid over your website.
3. Public Link (Pop-up)
A public link will not be created for a Pop-up form as they are designed to be embedded into your website (rather than loading as a standalone web page). Once you've published the form on your website, you can certainly paste your website's URL into the Public Link field. This will allow you to link directly to your website from our Email Communications tool (rather than pasting the URL there). This step is optional, but recommended!
Important Note: If your website is hosted by Wordpress, Wix or GoDaddy, please refer to our FAQ at the bottom of this page.
Sharing an Embedded Form
After publishing an Embedded Form, the Keela system will automatically generate the following sharing options on the Settings tab:
Important Note: If your website is hosted by Wordpress, Wix or GoDaddy, please refer to our FAQ at the bottom of this page.
1. Master Code (Embedded)
This code should be copied and pasted into the Header section of your website. This code is what allows your website to integrate with Keela's Form. Great news! You only need to copy the Master Code from Keela into your Header once - so if you've already done this step before for another form, you don't need to do it again. No matter what form formats you choose, or how many forms you embed in your website - Master Code from Keela only needs to be added once.
2. Embed Script (Embedded)
Next, paste the Embed Script code in the Body of your website (where you would like the form to appear). This code will automatically populate the space that it's placed with the form that you designed.
3. Public Link (Embedded)
A public link will not be created for an Embedded form as they are designed to be embedded into your website (rather than loading as a standalone web page). Once you've published the form on your website, you can certainly paste your website's URL into the Public Link field. This will allow you to link directly to your website from our Email Communications tool (rather than pasting the URL there). This step is optional, but recommended!
Sharing a Stand-Alone Form
Use this if you want to share your form in an email marketing communication!
After publishing an Embedded Form, the Keela system will automatically generate the following sharing options on the Settings tab:
Public Link (Stand-Alone)
After you publish a Stand-Alone form, a public link will be automatically generated. You can share this link directly on social media, link it to a Call to Action Button in your emails or hyperlink it to a Donate Button on your website. If you like, you can adjust the latter half of the URL by clicking on the pencil icon. Be sure to make any changes to the URL before you share it with the world!
QR Code (Stand-Alone)
After you publish a Stand-Alone form, a QR code will be automatically generated. You can copy this image and share it in email communications or download it as an image and put it in flyers. The possibilities are many!
Embed Button (Stand-Alone)
Keela will also generate code for a Button that can be placed anywhere on your website. This button will automatically direct any clickers to the Public Link of your Stand-Alone form in another web page.
My website is built with Wordpress - Can I still embed forms?
Yes! However, you'll need to do a couple more steps on Wordpress to get ready for your forms. First of all let's add the Master Code. Remember, you'll only need to do this once.
First, you'll need to ensure that you have downloaded a plugin on your Wordpress account that will allow for Header and Footer scripts to be added. Here are some examples of plugins that allow this:
- WPCode - Insert Headers, Footers, and Code Snippets (This is what Keela uses!)
- Divi Builder
- Header and Footer Scripts
Once you have one of these plugins downloaded, you'll need to locate where the Header code should be inserted for that plugin. It's a little different for each plugin so you may need to look around for it!
Here's how it works for WPCode - Insert Headers, Footers, and Code Snippets
Head to Code Snippets (from the sidebar) and click on the Header and Footer option. Add the Master Code into the Header section.
Okay, now the form. Head to the Page where you'd like to insert the form and add a new block. Choose the Custom HTML block and copy the Embed Script or Embed Button script for your form in here.
Here's how it works for Divi Builder
Edit the Page that you'd like to embed your form on. At the top of this page, there will be a blank "Insert Script to <head>" box that you can add code to. Copy the Master Code from the Settings tab of your form and paste it into this box.
Next, scroll down to the body of the page and click on the relevant plus icon to add your form! Clicking on the plus sign will bring up the Insert Module menu, and choose the Code module.
Head back to Keela to grab the Embedded Button Script or Embed Script code and paste it into the Code Module. Bingo!
A note on Previewing Forms with Wordpress
We recommend previewing your form in the live environment to ensure that the full functionality is displaying!
My website is built with Wix- Can I still embed forms?
Keela's new forms are quite advanced. We've moved away from the standard "iframe" structure that you see with older forms so that we can introduce more dynamic and cutting edge functionality in the future. Wix does not support forms without iframes. So, we've had to tweak the code a little and have created a unique code specifically for your Wix website!
To get started, insert the Master Code into the Header of your Wix site as per the usual process:
1) Copy the Master Code from Keela
2) Head to Wix > Add Elements
3) Click Embed Code > Marketing Tools (Advanced) > Custom Code
4) Paste the Master Code from Keela into the "Head"
5) Verify the custom code details & Apply
- Add Code to Pages: All Pages > Load Code Once
- Place Code in Head
6) Save and continue with the Embed Code
When it comes time to add the Embed Form Script, you'll use the one specifically for Wix forms.
You can add this code to by using the Embed Code > Embed HTML functionality on your Wix site.
The form itself will not be displayed within your edit mode builder - this is a limitation of of a Wix-specific code. In order to view your form, you will need to publish it!

My website is built with GoDaddy - Can I still embed forms?
This depends on the type of website that you have with GoDaddy. If you've purchased a website that allows you to add code to it, you're good to go! However, if you have a no code template based website builder you won't be able to add code to it. In this case, we recommend using a Stand-Alone form that you can hyperlink in your website or switch to a GoDaddy website version that does allow you to add code.
