Managing Recurring Transactions Processed via PayPal

PayPal has it's own processes and procedures for managing recurring transactions, which is why not everything can be managed via Keela. Here is our recommended processes for making changes to recurring transactions processed Online via PayPal.

 

Change Recurring Amount (PayPal)

There are two options for changing the payment information for an existing recurring donation processed via PayPal:

  1. Ask the donor to sign up for a new recurring donation with the updated amount through a Keela Donation Form. Once they sign up for the new recurring donation, you can cancel their previous recurring donation, so they don't have two recurring donations set up.
  2. Manually log their recurring donation in Keela with the updated amount. Once you sign them up for the new recurring donation, you can cancel their previous recurring donation, so they don't have two recurring donations set up.

Change Recurring Payment Method (PayPal)

  1. Ask the donor to sign up for a new recurring donation with the updated credit card details through a Keela Donation Form. Once they sign up for the new recurring donation, you can cancel their previous recurring donation, so they don't have two recurring donations set up.
  2. Manually log their recurring donation in Keela with the updated payment method. Once you sign them up for the new recurring donation, you can cancel their previous recurring donation, so they don't have two recurring donations set up.

Change Recurring Payment Date (PayPal)

  1. Ask the donor to sign up for a new recurring donation through a Keela Donation Form on the exact date they want it to start on (e.g. if I want to donate on the 13th of every month, they would sign up on the 13th). Once they sign up for the new recurring donation, you can cancel their previous recurring donation, so they don't have two recurring donations set up.
  2. Manually log their recurring donation in Keela on the desired date (e.g. if they want to donate on the 13th of every month, you would log the donation on the 13th). Once you sign them up for the new recurring donation, you can cancel their previous recurring donation, so they don't have two recurring donations set up.
