When a Contact passes away, often they can have records linked to them like donations or volunteer hours - and this might be something that your Organization would like to keep track of for your reporting, right?
But you definitely want to make sure that no communications are sent and that everyone in your team is aware and is respectful. You can mark these Contacts as 'Deceased'.
When a contact is marked as deceased, they will have a grey ‘Deceased’ badge on their profile and their email subscription status will automatically be set to ‘Opted-Out’ and the solicitation to ‘No’. This way, these contacts won't receive any Email Marketing communications from your organization. Contacts marked as Deceased will still receive automated Keela emails pertaining to purchases or transactions made by the contact (ex. Membership renewals, tax receipts, etc.).
If you need to pull a list of all deceased Contacts in your system, you can also filter for this criteria or add this as Column in your Contact Table.
