Whether you are importing transactions into Keela, or manually logging them, you can specify that these transactions have already been receipted by marking them as 'Ignored'. Once you tell Keela that a transaction has been receipted, the system will not allow you to create another receipt for this transaction. This is especially important for donations, as donation transactions should only have one transaction receipt to meet compliance.
Below outlines the three ways you can mark a transaction as 'Ignored' so they are excluded from the receipting process.
1. When manually logging a transaction (more than one):
While manually logging transactions you can add a Keyword label to the donation that is 'Receipted'. Then, using the Bulk Receipting Tool, you can filter out the transactions with the specified 'Keyword' and mark those transactions as 'Ignored'. By marking the transactions as 'Ignored', you are letting Keela know not to receipt these transactions.
2. When manually logging a single transaction:
When you are manually logging a transaction (single transactions), you can choose the "Ignore for receipting" option. You can learn more about receipting options here: Logging a Transaction - Receipting Options.
3.When importing transactions:
When importing donations in bulk, it's possible to add a "Receipted" column to your Spreadsheet where you can identify if the transaction has already received a receipt or not. For transactions that have been receipted, you will want to specify 'Y' in this column. When these transactions are imported into Keela, the status will be updated to 'Ignored,' letting Keela know not to receipt these transactions.
