One of our favorite things about the Keela system is our Receipts! You can create Receipts for Donations, Revenue Payments (non donations financial gifts) and Memberships. You can customize these with your own branding and even send them out automatically!
In this article we're going to take a look at all of the different kinds of receipts that you can send in Keela and how the setup and customization process works.
What Receipts can I send from Keela?
Donation Receipts
What is a Donation Receipt?
- Compliant donation receipts that can be used by your donors for tax purposes
- Can be sent automatically when a donation is made through an online Keela Donation Form (you don't need to do a thing!)
- Can be sent via email when a donation is manually logged in your Keela account by you or a team member
- Can be downloaded as a PDF document and printed directly from your computer if you'd like to send it out via mail
What types of Donation Receipts are there?
One-time Donation Receipts for single donation payments
- For donors who make a single, once-off donation payment to your organization (not an ongoing donation)
- These are created automatically for any donations that are submitted by a donor through an online Keela Donation Form
- These can be created and emailed or printed for donations that are manually logged in your account
Recurring Donation Receipts for ongoing donation payments
- For donors who make a recurring/ongoing donation payment to your organization (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually etc)
- These are created automatically for any Monthly donations that are submitted by a donor through an online Keela Donation Form
- These can be created and emailed or printed for recurring donations that are manually logged in your account
Cumulative Donation Receipts for multiple donation payments
- A single receipt that contains serial numbers of multiple donations that a donor made in your financial year
- For donors who have made more than one single donation payment throughout the year and have not received receipts for these yet
- You can generate a bulk receipt for multiple donors at once
- Donors who are making a recurring/ongoing donation payment through an online Keela Donation Form can opt-in to receive a cumulative donation receipt at the end of the year
- When manually logging a new recurring donation in Keela, you and your team members can choose for a cumulative receipt to be issued for this donation series at the end of the year
Revenue Receipts
What is a Revenue Receipt?
- A payment transaction receipts that cannot be used as a donation receipt - it is for record purposes only
- Can be sent automatically when a revenue payment is made through an online Keela Revenue Form (you don't need to do a thing!)
- Can be sent via email when a revenue payment is manually logged in your Keela account by you or a team member
- Can be downloaded as a PDF document and printed directly from your computer if you'd like to send it out via mail

- For contacts who make a single, once-off revenue payment to your organization (not an ongoing revenue payment)
- These are created automatically for any revenue payments that are submitted by a contact through an online Keela Revenue Form
- These can be created and emailed or printed for revenue payments that are manually logged in your account
Recurring Donation Receipts for ongoing donation payments
- For contacts who make a recurring/ongoing revenue payment to your organization (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually etc)
- These are created automatically for any Monthly revenue payments that are submitted by a contact through an online Keela Revenue Form

Membership Receipts
What is a Membership Receipt?

- Can be sent automatically when a membership subscription payment is made through an online Keela Membership Form (you don't need to do a thing!)
- Can be sent via email when a membership subscription payment is manually logged in your Keela account by you or a team member
- Can be downloaded as a PDF document and printed directly from your computer if you'd like to send it out via mail
What types of Membership Receipts are there?
One-time Revenue Receipts for Membership Subscription Payments
- The Membership Receipts are exactly the same as your Revenue Receipts as they are a transaction record of a payment only (cannot be used for donations)
- They are single revenue receipts that are sent when a member subscribes to your Memberships through an online Keela Membership Form
- They are single revenue receipts that are sent when a member is subscribed to one of your Memberships manually by you or a team member
