Cardin Integration Intro
The Cardin integration is an integration between your Keela account and Gmail that allows you to:
- View contact highlights, fundraising history, and recent fundraising activity right from your Gmail inbox.
- BCC and FWD email threads from your Gmail inbox into your Keela account so you can track correspondence.
- Add new contacts into Keela.
This way, rather than jumping back and forth from Keela to your Gmail inbox, you can view important information about the contact at a glance and add new contacts to Keela, right from your Gmail inbox!
Important Note: this integration is only available on Gmail.
Set-up
Step 1
To download the integration, you will want to search Keela for Gmail in the Google Marketplace. For a direct link to the app - click here! Once you locate the app, you should see a screen like the one pictured below. You just need to press Install, and the integration should be installed within seconds.
Step 2
Once the integration is installed, you will want to head to your Inbox. On the right-hand toolbar, you should see the Keela logo appear.
Step 3
When you click on this icon, a page will pop-up that requires information for setup. You will need to choose the country your Keela account is set up with. You will also need to enter a Token (see next step).
Step 4
To find your Token for the integration, you will need to go to your Personal Settings in your Keela account > click the Integrations Tab > and then click 'Generate API Token' under the 'Keela G Suite' integration. Once this code is generated, you will need to copy it and paste it into the integration pop-up in your Gmail account.
Step 5
Once you have all the information filled out, you will want to give the integration a few seconds to process the Token, and then the 'Start Browsing' button will turn purple, allowing you to click to complete the setup.
How to Use The Integration
The Cardin integration serves two main functions:
- If a contact who emails you exists in Keela, then the integration will show you information about the contact, fundraising activity, as well as an option to BCC/FWD the email thread into Keela.
- If a contact who emails you does not exists in Keela, then the integration will present you with an option to add the contact into your Keela account.
Contact Exists in Keela
When you click on an email thread in your Gmail inbox, below are the fields you will see if the contact already exists in your integrated Keela account.
Highlights will show you the 'Highlights' fields that appear under that contact's profile in Keela. You can also adjust which fields appear under highlights by Managing a Contact Profile.
General Updates will show you fundraising history as well as recent fundraising activities. This allows you to make strategic donor solicitation decisions, right on the spot!
BCC/FWD Emails allows you to paste your Keela BCC or FWD emails right into the email thread, so you can track the correspondence in your Keela account. For more information on the BCC and FWD feature in Keela, head to BCC/FWD Emails.
Contact Does Not Exist in Keela
When you click on an email thread in your Gmail inbox and the contact does not yet exist in your integrated Keela account, the integration will display the information pulled from the email (name, email address) and give you the option to 'Add in Keela'. When you select this button, you will be directed to Keela's 'Contacts' tool where you will be able to add the contact.
