In our previous articles, we've talked about how all of the different features of the Campaigns tool work. Those articles are designed to show you how something works, at a glance. In this article, we're looking at the high-level process of setting up a campaign and directing you towards the specific articles that you'll need to do this!
Important Note: We recommend reading our What is a Campaign? article first.
Step 1 - Brainstorm and Action Plan!
Before you begin, it's important to have a clear idea of what your Campaign Goals are and how you're going to accomplishing them. Spend some time outlining the below information - you will be able to use this as a reference point when creating your Campaign in Keela later on - promise!

Timeline
Now that you have an outline of how your Campaign is going to look, why not sketch out a rough timeline of the events that will take place to achieve your goal. Step 4 - Create an Email MarketingTemplate
An Email Marketing template is a great way to create an outline for an email that you're going to be sending a lot of. You can create the basic structure for your Email Marketing and make sure that all of the colors and branding are in place. Then, when it's time to send out your Email Marketing, most of the work will already be done for you!

Step 5 - Create a Donation or Revenue Form
You may already have a Keela Donation Form published on your website that you would like to use for this Campaign - that's completely fine! But if you would like to keep all of the Donations and Revenue Payments that you receive separate from your everyday donations, we recommend creating a new form that is linked directly to your Campaign. This way, any payments that are received through the form will be automatically attributed to your Campaign - easy peasy!

Important Note: Be sure to connect your new Donation Form to the Campaign that you created back in Step 3.
Step 6 - Create and Send Email Marketing
It's time to share the news of your fundraiser with your Contacts! You can create a new Email Marketing piece and select your pre-made template to start with!

Important Note: Be sure to connect your new Email Marketing to the Campaign that you created in Step 3.
Step 8 - Review Your Campaign
The Campaign tool in Keela will automatically keep track of any funds that are received through Donation/Revenue forms that have been linked to your Campaign. You'll be able to track your progress and report on your fundraising goal from here!

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I want to log donations or revenue payments that weren't received through a form (ie. cash, cheque)?
Sure thing! These donations can be manually logged directly into your Keela account. When logging them, you have the option of associating them with a Campaign!

My donation or revenue payment isn't appearing on my Campaign totals.
If a transaction isn't appearing in your Campaign it means that the record has not been associated with it. There are a couple of places to check and update this, depending on where the donation came from.
- Through a Keela Form - This means that the Keela Form itself hasn't been connected to the Campaign and the donations that are received through it will not be attributed to your Campaign.
Learn how you can Edit the Campaign on your Form. - Manually logged by your or a team member - This means that the transaction was not associated with your Campaign when it was being logged. No worries!
