What is a Donation Form?
Forms can be embedded on your website, a pop-up page or a stand-alone web page that allow a person to enter information. They have blank fields where you can enter your name, drop-down boxes that you can select options from, and other special functions.
Donation Forms allow your donors to give funds to your Organization online, through Stripe, Keela Pay (US only) or PayPal. You can provide your donors with different options or specific cause areas to contribute towards and connect your form to an overarching fundraising Campaign.
Important Note: Our Donation Forms have recently been updated, and now exist on our New Form Builder! You can check out how to build a new Donation Form here!
What happens when a Donation is made through a Keela Form?
There are several different automated processes that occur when a donation is submitted through a Keela Form. Let's take a look!
-
Donor's Information
The donor's information will be stored in a new Contact or updated to an existing Contact record in Keela. You can add as many questions as you like, so it's a great opportunity to collect information! -
Donation Information
The donation's information (amount, date, etc.) will be automatically applied to the donor's Contact record in Keela - meaning your reporting is always kept up to date! -
Donation Payment
The payment information that was entered into the form will be sent directly to PayPal or Stripe to be automatically processed and deposited into your bank account - easy peasy! -
Donation Receipt
A compliant donation receipt will be produced and sent directly to your donor. You'll also be able to find a copy of this receipt on the donation record within your Contact's profile.
Tip: You can add an option for cumulative receipts on your Donation Form. This means that if your donor decides to give an ongoing gift they can choose to receive one big receipt at the end of the year with each donation record on it.
