Okay! You have created a new E-blast (either from scratch or from an E-blast Template - and now you're ready to send that E-blast out into Cyberspace!
E-blast Recipient & Sender Fields
Before you send your E-blast, you will want to make sure you have all the Recipient, Sender, Reply-To and Subject fields filled in!
- To - when you click 'Add Recipients', you can go ahead and add to All Contacts or choose a Segment you want to send the E-blast to. Important note: we recommend selecting the check-box 'Send to email addresses with unknown subscription status' if many of your Contacts have an Unknown subscription status.
- From - here you can select which email address you would like to send the E-mail from. Note: if you want to send from your own domain, rather than the default Keela domain, you will need to use Keela's Sendgird Integration.
- Reply To - this field will automatically be filled with the author of the E-Blast, but you adjust which Users on the account receive recipient replies to the E-blast - via their Keela inbox.
- Subject - feel free to get creative here! Aim for a subject line that gets your recipients attention so they are more likely to open the E-blast! For some tips, click here!
A Note on Duplicate Recipients
We recommend keeping the primary email addresses unique to a single person's profile and not storing them on multiple Contacts' records. If an E-blast is sent out to two different Contact records (Contact names) that have the same email address, the E-blast will go out to that email address twice.
How to Send an E-blast
Make sure that you are on the content tab of the E-blast you want to send, on the right-hand side select Send E-blast. There are three different ways that you can choose to send an E-blast:
(1) Send Right Now
This will place your E-blast into the queue immediately. Be sure to double-check your E-blast one last time before clicking this button as once it's in the queue it cannot be removed.
(2) Schedule Send Time
Is now not a good time? Not to worry! You can schedule a time in the future and Keela will automatically send your E-blast for you.
(3) Send Test to Myself
Want to see how your E-blast looks in an inbox? Send a copy of the E-blast to your own inbox.
Note that you will need to have the 'To' / 'From' / 'Subject' fields populated in order for the 'Send E-blast' option to appear.
You will populate the 'To' field with the contact group you would eventually like to send this out to. This can be either a 'Segment' or 'All Contacts', don't worry as when you select 'Send Test to Myself' it will only be sent to you!
Note: Features like Smartcodes and the unsubscribe link do not work in test mode as these require information from a live Contact's profile to be populated.
