We know how important it is to be able to record and manage grants. That's why Keela has created a Grants feature to help you keep track of your grants!
Where to find Grants
On the Contact Profile
Navigate to Contacts in the Sidebar > Select a contact > Select the Fundraising tab > Select Grants from the drop-down list.

You can also locate all of your Grants within Keela's Fundraising Tool:
Creating a Grant
(1) To create a Grant, click the Add Grant button.
Note: If this is your first Grant for a contact, an Add Grant button will appear in the middle of the page in lieu of the Add Grant button.
(2) Fill out the Grant card that appears.
A guide to the Grant Information fields:
- Grantor - The name of the contact that is the grantor.
- Grant Name - The title of the Grant.
- Grant Type - You will be able to select from the following grant type: Project, Operating, Capacity Building, Research, Capital, Matching, Other.
- Grant Amount - The amount of the Grant.
- Start Date - Start date is the day the Grant was made.
- End Date - the deadline for the Grant.
- Application Stage - Application Stage for your Grant. You can select from the following: Draft, Pending, Approved, Declined.
- Application Submission Date - date that the application was submitted.
- Application Deadline - deadline that the Grant application is due.
- Assignee - Keela user responsible for following the Grant.
- URL - link to the Grant application that you'd like to add to Keela.
- Grant Requirements - any notes from the requirements of the Grant that you'd like to add to Keela.
- Attachments -Any documents you'd like to add.
- Installments -Allows you to manually create single, one-time installments for your Grant, with a specific amount and date. For example: $5,000 on October 15th.
A guide to the Grant Associations fields:
- Campaign - If the Grant was made in response to or in connection with a campaign, select the campaign.
- Impact Area - If the contact made a Grant towards any Impact Areas, select the impact area.
- Soft Credit - If the contact who made the Grant contributed in response to the efforts or influence of someone else, you can soft credit the Grant to a contact in Keela, to acknowledge their role.
- Source - Select a source if the contact who made the Grant came from a certain source (e.g. online via Keela, a corporation, from a fundraiser, etc.).
- Keywords - Any keyword related to the Grant for reporting.
- Notes - Additional notes for the Grant.
Grant Statuses
Grants will be automatically assigned one of the following statuses: Active, Overdue, Fully Paid, Completed, Cancelled.
Active
- End Date not selected + no funds received
- End Date not selected + Grant Amount partially received
- End date has not passed + nothing granted
- End Date has not passed + Grant Amount partially received
Overdue
- End Date has passed + no funds received
- End Date has passed + Grant Amount partially received
Fully Paid
- End Date has not passed + full Grant Amount received
Completed
- End date not selected + full Grant amount received
- End date has passed + full Grant amount received
Cancelled
- Manually canceled by a user
